Description: PLEASE NOTE Altered
Divine 70's Vintage Gunne Sax Sunflower Maxi Dress. Cotton/poly/acetate/nylon/rayon.
Scoop neck, zip-up back, bishop/mutton zipper sleeves, attached back ties, full maxi skirt, lined, ribbon and lace trim.
No Vtg Gunne Sax size tag, this was most likely a Vtg Gunne 7 PLEASE SEE NOTE (Please know your Vintage GS size and check all measurements), would best fit a modern XS (31" pit to pit).
This dress presents wonderfully with nice voile and color but does have issues:
1. The bodice has been altered in 1" (This was probably a GS 9 but the alteration takes it down to a GS 7 so I'm assigning it that way). I did not want to pull out the darts as it will most likely rough up the voile. One side of the zipper looks to be altered as well. It is fairly well done.
2. Two marks to front of skirt that did not lift with wash. There are also some faint black specks to the fabric, which I believe are factory fabric issues as a friend has this one and they have those on their dress as well.
3. Two pulls at the back hem, very minor and lost in sweep
4. This gal looks to have had the hem redone (length is equal to size so I do not believe they took any fabric off it), the hem is wonky in several places like it was taken up to repair a fray, it is not well done. This is not seen in sweep and only something you really need to look to see.
An absolute doll of a dress and perfect for garden parties!
