From my research Talbots sourced Malia dresses and used their own label in the 80's, the white garment tag does have the Malia RN #28129.
Strong colors, crisp fabric, I love when you find them with their original belts!!!
Her only minor issues are a small thread pull to the back of the bodice and I believe someone redid the stitching (not popped, just the stitch as it is still segered there) and the thread color is a shade off, you really need to look to see this though.
